Feel at home in Schagen, heart of North Holland

Schagen is located on the edge of West Friesland between Alkmaar and Den Helder. In the mid-15th century, the city received market rights and it still lives up to the name “Market Town”. The unique range of shops, including those in the indoor Makado Center, attracts many tourists and day visitors every year.

So do the many events, such as the ten West Frisian Thursdays and the Schager Markt in the summer months and the Easter cattle exhibition, the pop weekend, the short track racing, the UITmarkt and more. The many cafes and restaurants around the market and elsewhere in the city make Schagen a lively nightlife city.

Amsterdam and Schiphol are about an hour away and you can reach the many sights in North Holland such as the city of Alkmaar in less time. In addition, Schagen is the perfect location to cycle to the beach, in just over half an hour you can cycle to the beach of Callantsoog, for example.
